Meet the 2027 Hobonichi HON featuring the charming artwork of Yumi Kitagishi. This marks the fourth collaboration between Hobonichi Techo and Kitagishi, and the first time her artwork has been featured on a HON.
The hardcover design features scenes from Kitagishi’s beloved Dollhouse series. The front cover shows a cheerful white cat greeting you at the door while rabbits prepare tea and a slice of shortcake. The back cover features animals living in a house made of books, surrounded by delicate flowers. A small white cat and “2027” detail the spine for an extra charming touch.
The HON features the same interior layout as the Hobonichi Techo Cousin, with one page per day and vertical weekly pages. Its thread-stitched binding allows the book to open completely flat at 180 degrees, making it comfortable to write in without holding the pages down.
The book uses thin, lightweight, and durable Tomoe River paper, providing a smooth writing experience and excellent ink performance. The English edition also includes a variety of useful bonus pages, including My 100, Favorites, Phrases to Break That Writer’s Block, Hard-to-Translate Japanese Words, and a Kanda/Jinbo-cho neighborhood map.
