The brand minä was founded in 1995 by designer Akira Minagawa and later renamed minä perhonen in 2003.
Inspired by observations of everyday life and the natural world, the brand is known for its poetic illustrations and original textiles—ranging from prints to embroidery. In recent years, minä perhonen has expanded beyond clothing to include furniture, tableware, and spatial design for stores and hotels. One of its most notable exhibitions is minä perhonen / minagawa akira TSUZUKU, held in 2019 and 2020.
