Aya Inoue
Aya Inoue grew up in Kyoto and studied at the California State University, graduating with a degree in Fine Arts. She now works as an illustrator based in Fukuoka, creating every piece using "gari-ban", a simple stencil printing technique born in Japan during the Showa era. Working without sketches or redos, her art holds both boldness and delicacy in equal measure. With its charming motifs and color palette, her work feels like stepping into a European antique world, impossible to look away from.
